The Board have developed the Society’s Strategic priorities having regard to its 2024/25 priorities, feedback from members and Congress; its SCIO objectives and emerging issues and challenges.
Deliver the Student/graduate EHO Training Support programme, including a review of the grant assistance model, supported by FSS
Continue wider workforce planning and promotion of pathways into the profession including Food Safety Officers and other technical officers as well as EHOs
Develop and implement a communications strategy to ensure all members are kept informed of issues relevant to EH including improved use of social media to promote the charitable aims of the Society
Complete the assessment into EH delivery models before further fragmentation of services takes place.
Work with APSE to further develop the current performance measures for the key EH outcomes, promotes innovation and contributes to effective management.
Identify key performance measures which the Society can use when outlining its case to other agencies etc.
Continue engagement with P.H. colleagues in relation to SHPN and the development of P.H. Scotland to ensure E.H. leadership is uplifted and best placed.
Develop a professional education pathway for EH staff to become senior managers training.
Strengthen links with Scottish Government Health Protection Team
Ensure that EH is represented at the new Public Health Scotland governance arrangements, which replace the Public Health Reform Programme Board meetings
Update and maintain Society/EH involvement in SHPN including co-chairing of Coordination group
Develop the EH services role in relation to the PLACE and whole system delivery of public health priorities
